SAFe Scrum Master
Kentro is dedicated to innovation and collaboration, and they are seeking a mid-level SAFe Scrum Master to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Scrum Master will facilitate Agile practices for cross-functional teams in a healthcare IT environment, focusing on continuous improvement and effective team dynamics.

Responsibilities
Serve as Scrum Master for 1-2 configuration focused teams, ensuring effective, time-boxed Scrum events (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Review, Retrospective)
Coach teams on Scrum, SAFe, and Lean Agile principles, adapting practices appropriately for configuration and process work
Remove or escalate impediments that block teams; improve flow and reduce waste across the value stream
Partner with the Release Train Engineer (RTE) to prepare for and execute PI Planning, ART Syncs/Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops
Collaborate with other Scrum Masters to manage cross team dependencies and address systemic impediments on the ART
Use Jira and Jira Align to visualize work, support backlog refinement, manage team boards, and provide transparent views of progress, risks, and dependencies
Facilitate backlog refinement and planning with Product Owners by enabling clear, thin, testable slices of value for configuration changes
Track and share team level flow and outcome metrics (for example: predictability, throughput, cycle time, defect trends) to support inspect and adapt
Foster healthy team dynamics, psychological safety, and effective collaboration with business and technical stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience as a dedicated Scrum Master for Agile teams, ideally including non-software or configuration-focused teams
At least one Scrum Master certification (for example: CSM, PSM, SSM, SASM)
Experience as a Scrum Master in a SAFe environment, with direct participation in PI Planning and other ART level events
Demonstrated experience facilitating Scrum events and team workshops in remote and hybrid settings
Proficiency with Jira for boards, backlogs, and reporting, and working knowledge of Jira Align for PI planning, dependency management, and progress tracking
Strong communication, coaching, and influencing skills without formal authority
Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
U.S. citizenship required
Preferred
Experience in healthcare IT or clinical project environments strongly preferred
