Financial Analyst 9-12, Consultation & Contract Management Section

The Financial Analyst will oversee the analysis and interpretation of complex fiscal and programmatic budget requirements, manage financial data, and serve as a liaison to ensure accurate budget submissions.

Responsibilities

Provide oversight for analyzing and interpreting complex federal, state, and local fiscal and programmatic budget requirements for the Office
Update and oversee the Office of Community Violence Intervention (OCVI) revenue, expenditures, and sub-recipient monitoring policy and procedures
Orientate new staff on these policies and procedures
Run expenditure and payroll reports, as well as do projections, for all the OCVI funding sources
Train staff on how to properly manage and monitor their programs/projects
Responsible for the overall development and implementation of staff time and effort reporting
Bi-weekly auditing of staff time reported
Developing and updating the budget and budget narratives for the various funding sources
Assist in the OCVI team in any required reports
Serve as the financial liaison to MDHHS Grant Accounting, Contract, and Budget Office, to ensure the submission of accurate and timely budget data

Required

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major with at least 12 semester (18 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: accounting, finance, or economics
Financial Analyst 9: No specific type or amount is required
Financial Analyst 10: One year of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst 9, Accountant 9, or Auditor 9
Financial Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst 10, Accountant 10, or Auditor 10
Financial Analyst 12: Three years of professional experience providing a systematic review, analysis, interpretation, and/or evaluation of budgets, mortgages, loans, or other financial data, equivalent to a Financial Analyst, including one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst P11, Accountant P11, or Auditor P11
New Employees may be paid a signing bonus up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 may be paid at hire. Up to $1,250 may be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period
