Responsibilities
Oversees the evaluation and approval of new and amended ABL credit requests in accordance with internal policies and regulatory standards
Engages directly with clients to obtain financial and operational information and assess repayment capacity
Analyzes borrower financials, collateral structures, and industry conditions to recommend credit ratings, covenant packages, and transaction structures
Coordinates communication across internal teams to ensure transparency throughout the underwriting process and timely execution of credit decisions
Serves as a senior resource for underwriting execution and complex credit analysis
Supports portfolio performance by recommending and executing transactions that enhance returns while maintaining appropriate liquidity levels
Ensures portfolio activity aligns with risk appetite and is accurately executed
Contributes to liquidity planning, stress testing, assumption refinement, and model review efforts
Prepares portfolio-level reporting for senior management and regulatory audiences, covering risk, performance, and composition metrics
Conducts detailed analysis of individual exposures and portfolio trends to inform underwriting and portfolio decisions
Gathers and evaluates financial data, collateral information, and market benchmarks to support credit structuring and approvals
Assesses borrower risk profiles, key mitigants, and industry dynamics to develop a holistic credit view, including for complex lending structures
Proactively identifies and evaluates risks within new and existing credits through ongoing analysis and review
Partners with internal stakeholders to address emerging risk issues and manage review and renewal cycles
Supports the development and execution of strategies designed to monitor, mitigate, and manage risk across the ABL portfolio
Qualification
Required
Experience in credit underwriting and portfolio management within Asset-Based Lending (ABL)
Strong analytical skills to evaluate financials, collateral structures, and industry conditions
Ability to engage directly with clients to obtain financial and operational information
Experience in recommending credit ratings, covenant packages, and transaction structures
Proven track record of coordinating communication across internal teams
Experience in preparing portfolio-level reporting for senior management and regulatory audiences
Strong understanding of risk management principles and practices
Ability to conduct detailed financial and credit analysis
Experience in identifying and evaluating risks within new and existing credits
