Lead/StaffOptomi, in partnership with a global leader of sustainable paper and packaging solutions, is seeking a Principal Analytics Platform Engineer to fulfill a contract-to-hire opportunity. The role involves designing scalable analytics solutions and requires deep expertise in Power BI architecture and data modeling.

Responsibilities
Proven experience as a Solutions Architect with a focus on Power BI, Azure, and Microsoft Fabric
Strong knowledge of Power BI architecture, including DirectQuery, Import Mode, Composite Models, Row-Level Security (RLS), Object-Level Security (OLS), and Power BI Service administration
Deep expertise in data modeling, DAX, Power Query (M), and report development for enterprise BI solutions
Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, OneLake)
Understanding of database technologies (SQL Server, CosmosDB, Synapse, Databricks, NoSQL, etc.) and their integration with Power BI
Expertise in data governance, data security, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
Familiarity with enterprise-scale ETL, data warehousing, and data mesh/lakehouse architectures
Experience with OneLake and Fabric-based architectures is a plus
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions
