Sr Electrical Engineer - Failure Analysis
RTX is a company dedicated to helping the nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. They are seeking a Senior Electrical Failure Analysis Engineer to support programs by performing electrical component evaluations and root cause failure analysis.

Responsibilities
The position requires the ability to work through each step of an analysis, which may include external visual photo-documentation, electrical test, non-destructive troubleshooting, environmental testing, x-ray evaluation, destructive testing, decapsulation, cross-sections, internal visual photo-documentation, scanning electron microscope (SEM) evaluation, and writing a detailed final report
Operate the available laboratory equipment such as microscopes, oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, LCR analyzers, curve tracers, semiconductor parameter analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, frequency generators, signal generators, power meters, hi-pot testers, megohmmeters, laser millers, plasma etchers, chemical jet etchers, bond puller, etc
Researching, investigating, and experimenting with various new failure analysis techniques
Work on several analyses concurrently
Participating and collaboration across the department to work with engineers in other disciplines such as materials and chemistry
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 9+ years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience
Experience in electronic component failure analysis
Experience in using electrical test equipment
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
DoD Clearance: Secret
Preferred
Knowledge of reading electrical schematics and circuit analysis
Familiarity with component data sheets and drawings
Data collection and presentation skills to write a cogent report, supporting the analysis conclusion and if necessary, present the data and findings
Technical working knowledge of electrical components and their application
