Responsibilities
Manage the planning, documentation, implementation, support, and maintenance of manufacturing processes, procedures, machinery, and tooling to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, quality, and safety
Research process performance data to identify and implement process changes that improve yield, runtime, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness
Manage the activities and resources for manufacturing engineers, process design, and support personnel
Provide ongoing support for manufacturing problems and deficiencies; troubleshoot technically challenging production problems
Qualification
Required
Technical/Engineering Degree or equivalent experience required
Extensive knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
Knowledge of leadership concepts and ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing, and achieving objectives
Extensive knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization
Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization
Knowledge of evolving the business to remain competitive; ability to understand, adapt oneself to, respond to, and proactively seek changes and innovation in the business environment to improve the competitive advantage of an organization
Extensive knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment, and site
Extensive knowledge of organizational standards, procedures, and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance
Extensive knowledge of tools, approaches, and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide satisfactory levels of service
Extensive knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives
Demonstrated experience leading or implementing manufacturing process changes that improve efficiency through the implementation of automation or other process improvements
Experience as a leader of leaders
Experience at a product-producing manufacturing facility or organization
