SHARPS TECHNICIAN

The role involves manual labor for the collection and exchange of waste containers at healthcare facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

Ensures waste types are properly segregated, regulatory shipment windows are met, proper container labeling is adhered to, good housekeeping is maintained, and accurate tracking logs are kept
Travel between customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various Sharps and Pharmaceutical Management Systems
Interacts professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded
Maintains a rigid collection and service schedule
Communicates duty status on a defined scheduled
Participates and cooperates in safety process, including following written procedures, attending required training and scheduled meetings
Maintains a minimal amount of manifest errors
Maintains compliance with applicable environmental, safety and transportation regulations (EPA, OSHA, and DOT)
Immediately reports any unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries or property damage to supervisor
Participates and cooperates in safety process, including following written procedures, attending required training and scheduled meetings
May provide support or direction to less experienced technicians
Wears required personal protective equipment
Performs labor intensive activities such as walking long distances while pushing/pulling service carts
Performs other related duties as required or requested

Required

High school diploma or GED (accredited) is required
Valid Driver's License is required
Ability to Maintain required mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements
Able to work an agreed upon standard schedule
Must have a current, valid driver's license
Able to be insurable under our company's liability insurance policy
