HSE Manager
HyperStrong International USA Corp is seeking an HSE Manager to develop and implement health, safety, and environmental programs across projects within the U.S. region. The HSE Manager will establish management systems for compliance with U.S. regulations, drive risk management, and promote a proactive culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert on U.S. OSHA regulations, including the ability to research, interpret, and apply OSHA standards to complex or non-routine field conditions, and to define compliant, risk-based paths forward
Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and standards aligned with applicable regulations and recognized best practices of the industry
Support commissioning and service teams with HSE guidance, compliance documentation, and implementation planning throughout the project lifecycle
Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards, verify compliance, and drive continuous improvement
Lead investigations of safety incidents, near misses, and environmental events, including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action implementation
Establish emergency preparedness and response plans and support execution of drills and training exercises
Develop and deliver HSE onboarding training for new service hires and provide ongoing training, competency assessments, and refresher programs
Provide field leadership coaching to promote consistent application of HSE requirements and safe work practices
Track, analyze, and report HSE performance metrics, trends, and leading indicators to support management review and decision-making
Foster a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, feedback mechanisms, and continuous improvement initiatives
Establish and maintain BESS fire response, emergency management, and escalation protocols aligned with applicable codes and standards and local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE management within renewable energy, power generation, construction, or industrial project environments
Strong working knowledge of U.S. safety and environmental regulations and industry standards
Professional certifications such as CSP, NEBOSH, OSHA 30/40 Hour, or equivalent strongly preferred
Proven experience developing and implementing HSE programs and training initiatives
Demonstrated ability to lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions
Strong communication, audit, and stakeholder engagement skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and document management systems
Fluency in English required; bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Preferred
Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS) or other renewable energy technologies
Knowledge of U.S. and international HSE and environmental regulations
Experience supporting multi-site or cross-border operations within the Americas region
Training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
Experience working with global or cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
