Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building services that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will lead the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure, focusing on creating usable software that solves real problems.

Responsibilities

Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals. Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures
Building software solutions in an engineering environment using C, C++, Python, Java, Shell Scripting, and JavaScript
RDBMS such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or NoSQL databases
Object oriented design and object oriented programming
Agile or Scrum methodologies
Microservices hosted in leading cloud environments, AWS, Azure or GCP
Containerized applications, Docker, Kubernetes or similar application
Develop and troubleshoot large scalable distributed systems written in C and C++ on Linux platforms
Distributed systems design
RESTful API design
Strong understanding of event streaming platforms like Apache Kafka
Strong grasp of Kubernetes
Experience in a start-up environment
Experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems
Strong grasp of Unix-like operating systems

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
