Responsibilities
End-to-end propulsion development: From concept and modeling to prototyping, manufacturing, and flight validation
System optimization: Advance the performance of electric propulsion systems, including motors, propellers, and actuation mechanisms, with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and lightweight design
Cross-disciplinary collaboration: Partner closely with teams in aerodynamics, structures, systems engineering, and controls to achieve integrated solutions
Strategic leadership: Communicate effectively on technical progress, resource needs, schedules, and budgets
External engagement: Represent propulsion at customer, vendor, and investor discussions
Qualification
Required
Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering (BSc or MSc)
10+ years in mechanical or electromechanical system development, including 3+ years in leadership roles
Proven technical depth in electric motor-driven propulsion, aerodynamics, or lightweight systems
Strong understanding of propulsion physics and system optimization, from efficiency and power density to environmental durability
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and technical teams
Excellent communicator, able to translate complex technical challenges into clear direction for teams, executives, and stakeholders
Comfortable leading in a fast-moving, high-performance environment where innovation and accountability go hand-in-hand
