Electrical Manager

LHH is conducting a search for an Electrical Manager for a rapidly growing water midstream operator supporting high-volume energy production across the Permian Basin. The Electrical Manager will lead all electrical power distribution, automation, and measurement activities, ensuring safety and compliance while optimizing performance in a mission-critical environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor electrical, automation, instrumentation, and measurement teams supporting field operations
Serve as the primary liaison between field operations and management
Oversee design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems
Lead troubleshooting of electrical and automation failures impacting operations
Own medium- and high-voltage systems (480V through ~22kV), including MCCs, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, relays, grounding, and bonding
Partner with Asset Integrity & Reliability to ensure accurate measurement data and effective use of CMMS systems
Develop and enforce SOPs, safety standards, and compliance practices
Manage third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers for alignment on scope, cost, schedule, and quality
Ensure full compliance with environmental, safety, company, and customer standards
Lead workforce planning, scheduling, training, performance management, and succession development
Participate in hiring, coaching, and disciplinary processes
Maintain accurate timekeeping and enforce attendance and scheduling expectations
Act as a visible safety leader, including incident reporting, JSAs, training, and field audits
Respond to field emergencies and support after-hours operations as required

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical power, instrumentation, and automation within industrial or energy environments
Demonstrated experience designing, operating, and maintaining electrical power distribution systems
Proven leadership experience overseeing technical field teams
Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, and related industry standards
Hands-on experience with: Medium- and high-voltage systems (480V–22kV), MCCs, switchgear, transformers, relays, and VFDs, SCADA platforms (Ignition, Wonderware, Simatic, iFix, Intellution, or similar)
Electrical design tools such as AutoCAD or ETAP
Strong project execution, organizational, and time-management skills
Clear, professional communicator across field, leadership, and vendor audiences
Valid driver's license with the ability to operate company vehicles
Willingness to travel and respond to field issues as needed

Preferred

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
10+ years of progressive experience in electrical power, automation, and instrumentation
3+ years in a formal supervisory or managerial role leading technicians and programmers
Experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, etc.)
Experience using Maximo or comparable asset integrity / CMMS platforms
