The University of Virginia's Flowers Lab is focused on understanding early stages of Alzheimer’s disease and is seeking a new lab member to assist with patient interactions and sample management. The role involves drawing blood samples, preparing and banking samples, and ensuring smooth integration into clinic workflows.

Responsibilities

Discuss the project with participants and consenting them into the study
Draw blood samples and prepare and bank the samples in the lab
Prepare plasma and log and manage the biobank
Integrate seamlessly into the clinic and ensure research work does not negatively disrupt clinic flow or patient experience
Interact professionally and collegially with all lab members and clinic staff including physicians, support and research staff
Attend lab and project meetings weekly or as necessary
Receive training and guidance on a day-to-day basis to facilitate the goals of the project
Complete phlebotomy training if required

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
At least 1 year of lab experience, which may include student experience required
Bachelor's degree in a science or science-related field and at least 2 years of research lab experience which may include student experience
