HR Generalist I - Recruitment Focus
Albuquerque Academy is seeking an HR Generalist I with a focus on recruitment to support the Human Resources Department. The role involves managing the full-cycle recruitment process, collaborating with hiring managers, and ensuring effective onboarding and employee relations.

Responsibilities
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process (sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, offers)
Collaborate with hiring managers to define staffing needs and roles
Provide training for hiring and onboarding to managers
Develop recruitment strategies, post jobs, and source candidates across various channels
Coordinate the onboarding and off-boarding process for new hires
Prepare new employee files
Maintain personnel and employee relations files
Enter and regularly update personnel information in the HRIS software and Veracross, and run ad hoc reports as requested
Work with the HR Director to maintain job descriptions, salary grades and bands, and equity grids
Coordinate the annual handbook review. Manage the final editing and publishing processes for both staff and faculty handbooks
Utilize available software tools (Google Docs/Sheets, Microsoft Word/Excel) to organize and format HR documents
Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and analytics. Compile reports and prepare spreadsheets
Contribute to improving HR processes, employee experience, and retention
Maintain labor law posters
Support payroll, benefits administration, and timekeeping
Answer phones, greet visitors to the HR Office, and process incoming mail
Provide customer service to employees, visitors, applicants, and vendors
Provide assistance with general HR-related inquiries and requests
Coordinate special projects, meetings, and campus events as assigned
Participate in developing departmental goals and initiatives
Set appointments and arrange meetings
Coordinate culture-enhancing and morale-building activities
Track compliance for employee training and handbooks
Support the School and its mission, always maintaining a high degree of professionalism
Foster and maintain a culture of mutual respect, equitable practice, and joy
Demonstrate cultural competence and communicate and collaborate effectively across differences
Attend employee meetings as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in human resources or a business discipline is required
Minimum one year of experience as a human resources generalist is required
Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
Writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Ability to effectively prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently
Ability to be organized, accurate, thorough, and to monitor work for quality
Knowledge of database management systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word and Google Suite
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects with frequent interruptions
Ability to problem solve, being able to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
