Information Assurance Engineer

They are seeking an Information Assurance Engineer responsible for developing security plans, risk assessments, and performing security testing to ensure compliance with policies and requirements.

Responsibilities
Develop security plans, risk assessments and mitigation reports, and security tests plans and procedures in compliance with the IA policy
Participate in identifying capabilities to mitigate security issues at the system and component level
Perform security hardening of systems and components based on current mission
Execute security testing and evaluation using DISA's STIG/SRG checklists to ensure the correct implementation of security requirements (ex. Scanning with tools for static and dynamic code analysis and Nessus. Penetration Testing)
Perform penetration testing and traffic analysis to identify and quantify system risks
Generate documentation to detail security configuration, assessment findings, and mitigations
Build the RMF body of evidence for security requirements including items such as system risk assessments and mitigation reports, security plans (SP), security testing plans and procedures, Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTM), and System Impact Analyses
Communicate findings to the engineering team and customer in summary and detailed forms
Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities and the generation of the cyber package for the program leading to granting of the Authority To Operate (ATO)
Prefer CISSP or equivalent certification or the capability to be certified within 6 months of hire
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field
5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance at time of hire
U.S. citizenship
Experience with command-line interfaces to include Linux and PowerShell
Scripting familiarity with Python, bash, and PowerShell
Familiarity with software development practices to include branching, merging, unit testing and builds
Familiarity with programming languages to include C, C++, C#, and JavaScript
Technical writing skills
Familiarity with network capture and traffic/packet analysis
Familiarity with networking concepts to include firewall, router, switch, VPN, and VLAN
Familiarity with security concepts to include authentication, encryption, hashing, and permissions
Strong understanding of cyber security guidance such as Risk Management Framework (RMF) 800-53, STIGs, Cyber Survivability Endorsement Implementation Guide
Experience performing vulnerability and code analysis scans in DevSecOps environment (ex. Nessus, Static Code Analysis, STIGs)
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Effective ability in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions as they affect the cyber design and implementation
Excellent ability in reporting relevant cyber systems engineering design topics
Effective communication and coordination with project leaders, the customer program leadership, and professionals within the Engineering department and with project teams
Creative thinker, good multi-tasker
Preferred
CISSP or equivalent certification or the capability to be certified within 6 months of hire
