They are seeking an exceptional General Counsel to lead the legal function during a pivotal stage of growth, serving as a strategic advisor to the executive team and managing a small in-house legal team.

Responsibilities
Manage and mentor a small in-house legal team (Commercial + Product/Regulatory Counsel)
Oversee external counsel relationships, budgets, and workstreams
Build scalable legal infrastructure, processes, and policies as the company grows
Partner with leadership on risk, strategy, and company-wide decision-making
Lead all corporate legal matters, entity management, and governance processes
Manage Board materials, communications, and corporate recordkeeping
Oversee financing rounds, investor negotiations, and equity matters
Drive legal support for key partnerships and strategic transactions
Own all commercial contracting, including partner, vendor, and investor agreements
Lead counterparty negotiations and ensure strong legal leverage
Liaise with banks, partners, and regulators on matters impacting our products and operations
Partner closely with Product, Compliance, and Operations on new features and product expansion
Qualification
Required
JD and active bar membership
Trained at a top law firm followed by in-house experience at a high-growth tech company
Experience in financial services (cards experience is a plus but not required)
Track record handling complex commercial negotiations and advising on product/regulatory issues
Experience building and managing a high performing legal team
