Senior Ecommerce Inventory Planner

Responsibilities
Build annual and seasonal financial plans that align with business goals. Analyze competition, historical trends, and demand patterns to inform future buying and inventory strategies
Own end-to-end ecommerce demand planning including topline forecasting, weekly sales projections, and overall forecast vs. plan management. Monitor in-season performance and adjust forecasts to meet financial objectives
Lead promotions and pricing planning. Manage pricing strategy throughout the season to hit margin goals. Work closely with finance/costing and marketing on promotional and markdown calendar, cadence, and recommendations
Manage inventory flow from receipt through end of life, optimizing stock levels to balance availability and sell-through. Partner with teams cross-functionally to drive alignment on timelines, operational priorities, and execution
Manage retailer replenishment (Walmart, Target, etc.) to optimize inventory levels, maximize availability, and hit sell-through goals
Proactively forecast and mitigate inventory risks such as excess stock, constraints, and demand variability through real-time insights
Build and maintain open-to-buy plans that align inventory investment with sales and margin goals. Monitor OTB position and make actionable recommendations throughout the season to guide strategic inventory buy decisions and sell-offs
Partner closely with marketing to drive optimal sell-through, velocity, and inventory goals, down to the SKU level. Anticipate paid media-driven demand shifts and ensure inventory/fulfillment readiness
Work closely with design and digital merchandising/operations team to inform product assortment and optimal digital merchandising on-site to drive ecommerce growth goals
Work closely with production on inventory timeliness, delivery, and replenishment
Oversee product allocation for online fulfillment centers to ensure optimal stock distribution
Manage replenishment processes to maintain in-stock targets across evergreen and drop-in products
Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and seasonal performance reports, including sales, margin, inventory, sell through. Track performance against core inventory KPIs: in-stock %, sell-through %, weeks cover, lost sales, and fulfillment health metrics
Utilize planning and ERP tools (Retail Link, Vendor Central, Seller Central, TPO, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) to support data-driven inventory moves
Identify risks, opportunities, and ongoing actionable insights
Leverage AI and stay aware of cutting-edge planning tools & technologies to make more accurate, efficient, and profitable decisions
Build automated reporting and executive dashboards to provide clear visibility into performance, risks, and upside opportunities
Lead Sales and Operations alignment for ecommerce demand and supply strategies to drive informed decision-making at senior levels
Qualification
Required
7-10+ years in ecommerce forecasting & planning
Experience managing 1P wholesale + 3P marketplace models. DTC experience a plus
Mass retail partnership experience is strongly preferred (Walmart, Target, Amazon etc.)
Financial planning expertise: ST%, WOS, in-stock, WFC, etc
Proven success scaling ecommerce inventory performance in SKU-driven categories. Apparel experience is a plus
Advanced Excel + analytics skills; comfort with planning systems
Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and conceptual skills
Strong retail math skills are a must (IMU, ROI, AUR, AUT, AUC, sell-thru, etc.)
Excellent verbal communication and writing skills (to both internal and external partners)
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, production, design, product development, cost control/finance, digital merchandising, distribution)
In office 4 days a week, 1 day remote
