They are seeking a highly experienced Physician Assistant to serve as the Clinical Director of Cardiac Surgery, responsible for both surgical first-assist duties and operational management to enhance patient care and service line growth.

Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding: Partner with leadership to identify staffing needs, assist in interviewing advanced practice providers and clinical staff, and lead onboarding/training initiatives to ensure smooth integration into the surgical team

Business Development & Physician Relations: Support service line growth by fostering relationships with referring physicians, participating in outreach efforts, and contributing to strategic planning for expanding surgical volumes and new service offerings

Operational Workflow Management: Oversee day-to-day coordination of surgical schedules, staffing coverage, and resource allocation; implement process improvements to maximize OR efficiency and optimize patient flow

Program Development & Quality Improvement: Lead initiatives focused on clinical outcomes, compliance, and patient satisfaction

Function as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room for cardiac procedures

Position and drape patients under the direction of the surgeon

Perform Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)

Conduct comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physicals

Round on post-op patients in ICU and step-down units

Participate in a rotating schedule for weekend and night CVOR coverage
