This entry-level position plays an essential role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of the City’s wastewater collection system, performing duties related to inspection, maintenance, repair, and operation of wastewater collection infrastructure.

Responsibilities
Performs a full range of general repairs related to the wastewater collection system; performs trenching, shoring, and backfilling; repairs gravity mainlines, force mains and laterals
Performs a full range of general maintenance and cleaning duties related to the wastewater collection system; cleans and rods sewer mains and laterals; cleans lift stations and wet wells
Operates a variety of vehicles, equipment, and tools including service trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, vactor trucks, skip loaders, backhoes and related attachments, large trailers, and hand and power tools
Serves in emergency standby capacity; provides customer service and performs all aspects of collection system maintenance and repair during after-hours periods including holidays and weekends
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Six months or less experience in the use of hand tools, construction, repair, and maintenance
Grade I Wastewater Collection or Grade I Wastewater Treatment Certification issued by the Arizona Dept. of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) at hire
Possession of a valid Commercial Driver License Class B with Tanker Endorsement at hire
