Branch Executive - Freeport Maine
YMCA of Southern Maine is a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Branch Executive oversees the total operation of a YMCA branch, including membership, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer board and staff development, and financial development.

Responsibilities
Staffing Oversight - Oversees the hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, development, accountability and supervision of staff and program volunteers, consistent with association priorities and protocols. This includes the Y’s Accountability Pledge, personnel policy, protocols, and safety standards for staff, facilities, and program participants / members / volunteers, maintaining high morale and providing excellent service

Staffing Administration -Ensure accurate and consistent documentation, tracking and processes consistent with association priorities and protocols
Leadership - Is a collaborative, engaged, and active participant on the Senior Leadership team and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA and decisions of the Senior Leadership Team. Communicates in an effective and timely manner and makes sound decisions. Actively engage with the branch and association leadership teams to plan and implement a successful annual campaign and association special events, connecting donors with our cause, and raising money to support our mission
Programming - Ensure all programming is of a high quality and is planned, developed, and implemented in accordance with Association protocols and priorities, and licensing guidelines, and in adherence with all Y Brand guidelines
Relationship Building - Develop positive relationships with the outside community that lead to greater awareness of the Y’s mission and impact, growth in number of people served, as well as revenue. Actively develop and coordinate the branch advisory board and committees, develop and direct high quality relationship-based member engagement strategies, and direct the volunteer activities of the branch in coordination with association strategies and priorities
Operations - Implement annual operating plan developed by the Senior Leadership Team, consistent with the strategic planning goals of the Association. Ensure the safety of staff and maintenance of high quality facilities, grounds, and equipment
Data Collection - Ensure all data tracking is maintained accurately and consistently, as required
Budgeting - Direct the financial development activities of the branch in conjunction with the overall strategic goals of the Association. Develop, implement, and accurately maintain the branch operating budget and forecast in alignment with Association goals, priorities, and resources
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in human resources, social services, business management or equivalent preferred
Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
Three years' experience with budgeting and forecasting
Proven track record in effective staff management, development of volunteer involvement, and creation and maintenance of long-lasting collaborations with community organizations; ability to recruit top community leaders
Capacity to work a flexible schedule and respond to emergent situations
Excellent decision-making, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to present information in a clear, understandable way in a group or one-on-one setting to people from all social and economic segments of the community
Demonstrated ability to communicate with non-English speakers
CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases
Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel locally
A clean record as determined through criminal background check and fingerprinting through the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS)

Preferred
Prior experience with volunteer board development and fundraising preferred
Ability to speak languages other than English preferred
YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred
