Supervisory Vessel Traffic Management Specialist
The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking a Supervisory Vessel Traffic Management Specialist in the Sector Puget Sound Waterways Management Division. The role involves managing Vessel Traffic Center operations and facilitating navigational safety, security, and marine environmental initiatives.

Responsibilities
Providing direct oversight of vessel traffic management operations in the VTC to include determining short-range work schedules and special assignments and performing all staff administrative and management functions
Managing functionality of VTS systems, equipment, and workspaces to ensure operational readiness
Interfacing with Federal, State, Local, and Tribal governments, stakeholder organizations, vessel operators, and the general public on matters involving vessel traffic management operations
Providing advice, technical guidance, and briefings related to vessel traffic management operations
Leading, conducting and/or participating in vessel traffic management and port-related studies and reviews
Developing and disseminating enhanced training and specialized information related to legislative/regulatory initiatives impacting vessel traffic management operations within Puget Sound
Managing VTS stewardship of Sector Puget Sound's Cetacean Desk Pilot Program
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be registered or exempt from the Selective Service
A one-year probationary period may be required

This position requires a Secret clearance
Selectee must be able to obtain/maintain a valid state driver's license

Proficiency in English is required
You MUST meet the following requirements: Individual Occupational Requirements for Transportation Operations Series 2150
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector
Specialized experience for the EXTERNAL PROGRAMS AND OPERATIONS MANAGER is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position
