Research Fellow, Department of Otolaryngology
The University of Virginia Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery is offering a paid fellowship for medical students to gain specialized research training. Fellows will collaborate with faculty on various research projects, develop expertise in study design, and present their work at conferences.

Responsibilities
Gain invaluable experience leading novel projects that align with their area(s) of interest and help to support ongoing departmental research projects
Collaborate with faculty and take a primary role in conducting research projects, preferably in multiple subspecialty areas
Oversee projects from initiation to completion when possible
Prepare abstracts for presentation at national meetings and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
Qualification
Required
Must have a bachelor's degree
Must be enrolled in an MD training program
Strong interest in basic science and/or clinical research within otolaryngology
Prior experience in experimental design
Prior experience in data assessment/interpretation
Prior experience in scientific presentation
Prior experience in scholarly writing
