CRC Lab Technician

Responsibilities

Prepares blood specimens for research, including centrifuging, aliquoting, measuring, pipetting, labeling, storing, and shipping. Delivers samples to other laboratories throughout the campus as needed
Analyzes patient glucose levels using the YSI machine. Records and maintains patient results and related data
Prepare study-related documentation, such as protocol worksheets, procedural manuals, adverse event reports, institutional review board documents, or progress reports
Prepares quality and safety control measures for the laboratory, such as checks of equipment, temperature control, and documentation of quality improvement projects
Performs other related work as needed

Required

Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree)
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline
Ability to read, comprehend, and interprets written instructions and process specimens accordingly
Ability to work independently; accountability; good attention to details and capable of a high degree of precision and accuracy in lab work; ability to keep accurate records, data entry, and sample inventory
