Digital Analytics Manager

The Eames Institute is a nonprofit public charity dedicated to advancing the legacy of designers Ray and Charles Eames. The Digital Analytics Manager will own the measurement, analysis, and optimization of the Institute's digital properties, synthesizing data from various platforms to provide actionable insights into audience behavior and marketing performance.

Responsibilities

Own web analytics infrastructure, data quality, and reporting across GA4, GTM, Looker Studio, and related platforms
Deliver dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analyses that inform leadership, marketing, content, and product decisions
Analyze user behavior, engagement, search, and conversion data to identify trends and opportunities
Provide data-driven recommendations in collaboration with cross-functional partners to improve site structure, content strategy, navigation, and user experience
Integrate and interpret data from Shopify, HubSpot, Meta, and other digital platforms to build a unified view of audience behavior, engagement, and conversion patterns and to track and report on KPIs
Develop cross-platform reporting that links website activity to outcomes such as email engagement, membership interest, and ecommerce behavior
Monitor and optimize technical and content SEO performance using tools such as Google Search Console, SEMRush or Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog
Conduct regular audits to identify indexing issues, broken links, metadata gaps, and areas for improved internal linking or structured data
Provide search-optimized recommendations for new content, features, and site architecture changes
Track keyword performance and audience discovery patterns to inform content planning
Evaluate emerging AI-powered search and discovery surfaces to recommend optimizations for structured, high-authority content visibility
Monitor and analyze social referral traffic, platform performance, and content engagement to inform content and distribution strategy
Monitor site performance metrics (Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile usability), collaborating with developers to address issues
Evaluate user journey friction points and support A/B testing, UX refinements, and conversion optimization efforts
Ensure analytics and tagging configurations accurately reflect user interactions and site features
Serve as the primary point of contact for analytics-related systems and integrations, including GA4, GTM, search tools, Meta and other social platform pixels/conversion APIs, and CRM analytics connections
Maintain documentation of analytics configurations, tagging standards, and reporting frameworks
Collaborate with internal and external development partners to validate tracking on new pages, components, or features
Stay updated on evolving analytics platforms, privacy standards, and measurement best practices

Required

5+ years of experience in digital analytics or digital marketing performance, ideally with high-traffic websites
Expertise with tools such as Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, Search Console, Looker Studio, and social platform analytics (e.g. Meta)
Strong understanding of search-optimization fundamentals, including site architecture, keyword research, technical search optimization, and structured content
Ability to translate complex data into insights and recommendations easily understood by creative, technical, and leadership teams
Experience synthesizing data across multiple digital platforms such as Shopify, HubSpot, Meta, and GA4
Solid understanding of UX principles, conversion optimization concepts, and website performance metrics
Demonstrated ability to inspect, validate, and troubleshoot basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in support of analytics tracking and implementation
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area with ability to work on-site full time

Preferred

Experience working in museums, cultural institutions, or design-focused organizations a plus
Familiarity with CMS platforms such as Sanity, UX/UI principles, responsive frameworks, and content-related accessibility concepts
Experience partnering with designers, engineers, product teams, or external agencies
