Senior Staff Accountant - Corporate Office
Action Property Management is the largest privately owned HOA management company in the West, serving over 300 communities. The Senior Staff Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance, while preparing financial statements, budgets, and leading audits.

Responsibilities
Maintain accuracy of the general ledger; update chart of accounts as necessary and monitor accounts for discrepancies
Record all journal entries timely with complete documentation and support
Complete monthly bank reconciliations; promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies
Reconcile and balance accounts payable and accounts receivable monthly
Research and resolve suspense items, contingencies, and unusual transactions in a timely manner
Prepare and review monthly financial statement packages, including supplemental schedules, for completeness and accuracy
Lead preparation of annual budgets, coordinating inputs and ensuring accuracy of forecasts
Own the audit/review process by providing documentation, answering auditor questions, and coordinating responses
Manage routine banking and investment transactions to ensure timely execution and accuracy
Serve as the primary responder for accounting inquiries from site managers, board members, and internal teams, ensuring timely updates and communication
Take ownership of cross-departmental responsibilities such as onboarding new accounts, audit file preparation, and other recurring deliverables
Drive process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness in financial reporting
Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory frameworks, industry standards, and US GAAP
Represent the accounting team at Board meetings upon request
Perform other accounting duties as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
Sense of urgency with strong accountability, maintaining a professional, customer-first demeanor and effective communication under pressure
Strong knowledge of GAAP and proven ability to prepare and interpret financial statements
Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage HOA board members, community managers, and team members
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Strong proficiency in English writing and verbal communications
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
Preferred
Proficiency with CINC accounting software a plus
HOA experience is preferred
