Quality Supervisor

Responsibilities
Acts as liaison between Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering relative to customer specifications, customer quality requirements, and customer problems
Review customer complaints, analyze returns and make recommendations for corrective action
Assist plants on quality improvement programs
Assist in conducting annual plant audits and systems surveys
Update and augment group Quality Assurance procedures and systems
Assist application Engineering and Sales in development and application problems
Supervise daily quality operations, including incoming, in‑process, and final inspections, ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer specifications
Oversee metallurgical and mechanical testing activities such as hardness testing, tensile testing, microstructure evaluation, grain flow verification, and failure analysis
Review and approve material certifications, heat‑treat records, certifications, and special‑process documentation with a strong understanding of alloy behavior and metallurgical properties
Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem‑solving tools (8D, 5 Why, fishbone), incorporating metallurgical findings when applicable
Manage calibration and proper use of lab and inspection equipment including hardness testers, optical microscopes, tensile machines, torque testers, and precision measurement tools
Ensure proper metallographic sample preparation, microstructure analysis, and interpretation of results for process validation and nonconformance investigations
Verify compliance with aerospace fastener standards related to mechanical properties, material composition, and surface treatments
Continually strive to improve: testing methods, tooling, and equipment through statistical sampling, that ensure adequate quality in our manufactured product
Work with engineering to develop simple and efficient methods of testing new product lines
Monitor all manufacturing processes through audits and daily evaluations, to ensure that processes are being followed, and short cuts are not being taken, jeopardizing the quality of our product
Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records
Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures
Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities
Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management
Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities
Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management
Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities
Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Quality Aerospace Manufacturing environment
Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or lead responsibility
Hands‑on experience with metallurgical laboratory practices such as sample preparation, microstructure evaluation, grain flow verification, hardness testing, and failure analysis
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility is required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
