Responsibilities
Research and select materials based on customer’s strength or tooling requirements
Create drawings from 3D models in accordance with ASME standards
Reverse engineer parts and assemblies using standard machine shop inspection tools and equipment to fill in missing or incorrect data in drawings and loft
Assist in vendor selection based on derived project or specification requirements
Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes (ISO9001, AS9100D, and NADCAP)
Support continuous improvement
Write detailed build, assembly, inspection, and production instructions to assist the production team
Identify root cause and corrective action (RCCA) for discrepancies and deficiency
Utilize the lean manufacturing approach to integrate automation and increase efficiency of manufacturing processes
Assist in mentorship of junior engineers and technicians to transfer process knowledge and increase technical proficiencies
Support business development efforts and provide technical expertise on bids, proposals and RFQs
Prioritize and execute tasking in a timely fashion within a dynamic work environment
Other duties as assigned
