Responsibilities

Perform routine and detailed design tasks

Perform analysis, engineering calculations, and developing construction documents for a variety of structures

Lead transmission line design projects and coordinate with engineering staff, clients, and project managers

May assist in verifying code compliance, quality checks, meeting project schedules and budget as well as coordinate the civil/structural engineering work with other disciplines and CAD designers

Experience or desire to perform civil design for site utilities and overhead lines

The candidate may work on the conceptual and detailed design activities for power, industrial and institutional projects

Must be capable of effective communication, work in a team-oriented manner and possess analytical and organizational skills

Conducting analyses to develop design options

Assisting with preparing cost estimates or specifications

Perform routine engineering and design tasks

Participate in field reviews or construction observation

May serve as a project manager for transmission line projects

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering

A minimum of 10 years of experience

Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license

Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector

Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit)

An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering

10+ years of transmission line design experience

Specific experience performing all aspects of line design including: PLSCADD, structure analysis, project cost estimates, plan and profile preparation, optimization, specifications and drawings, and other engineering documents required for power transmission line projects through 500kV

Overhead power transmission is the focus of this position although any underground transmission experience would be helpful

Experience with Microsoft Office applications, and other related engineering and computer-aided design software as appropriate
