Responsibilities
Reviewing and evaluating building construction plans, specifications, and related documents to ensure compliance with applicable building and fire codes, fire safety regulations, and local, state, and federal laws
Examining architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing plans for compliance with fire safety regulations, local, state, and federal laws and other adopted codes and standards
Identifying code deficiencies and communicating required corrections to architects, engineers, contractors, and property owners
Providing interpretations of codes and ordinances to design professionals and the public
Maintaining detailed records of plan review decisions, correspondence, and approvals in the permit tracking system
Responding to inquiries from stakeholders regarding submittal requirements, code interpretations, and review timelines
Participating in pre-submittal meetings and offering guidance to project teams
Staying current with changes in codes, ordinances, and construction technology
Assisting in developing and updating internal policies, guidelines, and procedures for plan reviews
Performing other duties assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma/GED
one (1) year of job-related experience
