Senior Clinical Quality Measure Developer
American Institutes for Research (AIR) is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization focused on behavioral and social science research. Responsibilities
Lead in the design, development and testing of electronic clinical quality measures using Clinical Quality Language (CQL), Quality Data Model (QDM), and Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR)
Lead in defining user requirements, designing measures test plans, and testing strategies for digital quality measurement and digital quality health related project and tasks
Lead quality measure development research teams
Lead and facilitate meetings with project teams and clients
Prepare concise, well written technical reports, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations for a variety of audiences
Provide strategic and technical expertise related to digital quality health and clinical informatics to guide business development and research agendas
Mentor junior staff, sharing approaches to solving concrete problems, and providing feedback on the work of others
Clearly communicate with clients, site-based staff, and other stakeholders and represent AIR in a professional manner
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience in health or nursing informatics, electronic clinical quality measurement, electronic health record (EHR) systems, or electronic health data
Experience working in a contract research or similar project-based environment
Hands-on experience with Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), Clinical Quality Language (CQL), Quality Data Model (QDM), and electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) tools, including the Measure Authoring Development Integrated Environment (MADiE), Value Set Authority Center (VSAC), and the Measure Management System (MMS) Blueprint
Proven experience developing, validating, and testing electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs), with a strong understanding of healthcare workflows and electronic health record (EHR) systems
Experience collaborating with clinicians, researchers, and technical teams to interpret measure requirements and testing results
Knowledge of Consensus-Based Entity (CBE) requirements and federal rulemaking processes
Leadership and project management skills, including managing cross-functional teams and competing priorities
Ability to mentor and teach electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) authoring, testing, and the quality measurement lifecycle
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Effective time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a virtual or dispersed environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools
