They are looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineer to join their team, responsible for preparing designs, reviewing building codes, and managing construction administration tasks.
Design
Responsibilities
Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and others outside the project team
Prepare preliminary designs for clients
Review building codes to assure proper implementation in design
Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents as well as construction
Produce construction ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure completeness and accuracy
Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with the construction teams
Qualification
Required
BS in Civil/Structural Engineering and 2-5 years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally in commercial construction OR MS in Civil/Structural Engineering and 1+ years of relevant experience
Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gage steel, and understanding of foundation design
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction level structural drawings
Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design packages
Engineer in Training (EIT) license
