Responsibilities
Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate collection and verification of personal and insurance information
Schedule and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize scheduling efficiency
Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate departments or personnel
Maintain and update patient records and reception logs in compliance with privacy laws and organizational standards
Monitor reception area operations to ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols and identify opportunities for process improvements
Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and patient concerns promptly
Assist in training new reception staff on quality standards and reception procedures
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a receptionist or front desk role, preferably within a healthcare setting
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare administrative processes
Proficiency with computer systems, including electronic health record (EHR) software and standard office applications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Certification in medical office administration or related field
Experience with quality assurance practices in healthcare environments
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population
