Cardiologist, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Internal Medicine, Heart Failure (174831)
Stony Brook University is seeking a full-time academic Heart Failure/VAD cardiologist to join their expanding cardiovascular program at The Heart Institute. The role includes a mix of inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities, along with opportunities for research and mentorship in a supportive academic environment.

Responsibilities
Join a program with strong surgical partners, expanding referral base, and institutional backing to increase VAD, shock, and advanced HF volumes
Shape program strategy with an individualized development plan that aligns clinical focus with mentorship, leadership roles, and promotion criteria
Access tremendous division-supported infrastructure for clinical trials, outcomes research, and implementation science, with mentorship for early-career funding and support for national speaking and committee roles
Qualification
Required
MD, DO or MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent)
Board certified in Internal Medicine
Board eligible/board certified in Cardiovascular disease and/or Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology
Expertise in heart failure and ventricular assist device management
Preferred
Experience and excellence in clinical subspecialty care, educational initiatives or cardiovascular research
Early-career candidates from advanced heart failure/VAD fellowships who are ready to build a national profile in MCS, shock, or HF outcomes with strong institutional support
