TechFlow, Inc. is seeking a Senior Master HVAC Technician to join their team at Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune. The role involves installing, modifying, and repairing various refrigeration and air conditioning systems, supervising lower-level technicians, and ensuring compliance with electrical publications and directives.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair various refrigerant systems to include; Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems, Chillers, Reversible Chillers, CRAC Units

Cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools, cuts and threads pipe, using machine-threading or hand-threading equipment. Joins tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings or unions, and solders joints, using torch, forming complete circuit for refrigerant, installs various refrigerant valves in circuit(s)

Test joints and connections in refrigerant piping for leaks using leak detector, verifies leak free using vacuum pump and vacuum hold test

Test and verify proper operation of components, connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls and ventilation fans

Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses and electrical wiring to repair installed units

Add/remove Freon to refrigerant systems to achieve proper subcooling and superheat

Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjusts controls to insure proper operation

Wrap pipes in insulation batting and secure them in place with cement or wire bands

Install, repair and service air conditioners, ranging up to 1100 tons cooling capacity in warehouses, barracks and commercial buildings

Prepare work orders and cost materials estimates

Assist in training lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniques

Supervise and lead lower-level workers

Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

Knowledge and proficiency of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of commercial and industrial grade HVAC equipment

Required to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions

Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in the installation, repair and maintenance on HVAC equipment; planning and managing projects; preparing and maintaining accurate records; and handling hazardous materials

Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: indoor air monitoring equipment and interpret resulting data; standards for design and construction; air conditioning and heating codes; hazards and safety precautions; and refrigerant handling and disposal

Knowledge of safety issues in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment

Be adaptable and flexible in work situations

PRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
