Electrical Engineering Manager - Product Support/VE

Responsibilities
Lead a small to medium size team of electrical engineers in the design, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of embedded electronics for a variety of battery projects
Mentor and coach the team in engineering best practices including Work Breakdown Structure, root cause analysis, circuit design, and battery/PCBA manufacturing
Lead the team to qualify alternate electronic components, platform, and contract manufacturers to maintain supply chain stability
Identify and execute Value Engineering opportunities to optimize cost of existing products
Ensure production and warranty/quality issues are resolved in a timely manner, while keeping stakeholders informed
Organize and align across functional teams to develop a robust product support strategy roadmap
Drive urgency in project schedules and accountability for establishing and achieving key project metrics that meet the organization’s needs
Effectively communicate and motivate up, down and across the organization to a diverse range of technical and non-technical team members
Quickly, effectively, and candidly frame-up and escalate business risks/opportunities to senior leadership
Ensure the team is given the time and resources required to succeed by creating and managing robust project roadmaps and resource plans with converged project scope
Champion and drive new processes and procedures to meet the needs of a changing business
Ensure proper risk analysis is performed on proposed changes to existing products
Review drawing releases and Engineering Change Notices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
7+ years of highly successful embedded systems experience
3+ years of team leadership experience
Understanding of digital circuits and the interaction between firmware and electronics. Ability to realize component level design
Excellent problem-solving skills, exercises independent judgement and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment
Strong leadership experience
Self-motivated, organized, efficient, process oriented with a strong work ethic
Practical knowledge in embedded electronics design, root cause analysis, and battery/PCBA manufacturing
Familiarity with using schematic capture, PCB layout software, SPICE, and knowledge of industry best practices
Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international)
