Kratos Defense & Security Solutions is seeking a Sales Tax Manager for its corporate office in San Diego, CA. The Sales Tax Manager will be responsible for all aspects of indirect tax compliance in the United States, including overseeing sales tax compliance, managing audits, and implementing systems for tax filings.

Responsibilities

Own all aspects of indirect tax compliance in the United States

Oversee sales tax compliance, property tax compliance and related internal controls

Manage the mailbox for incoming sales tax related questions from the business, ensuring timely responses

Lead state and local sales tax audits, balancing risk management with practical resolutions

Monitoring and interpreting changing state/local sales tax laws, nexus rules, and communicating impact to business

Provides improvements to sales tax process in creative and effective ways

Directs the application of existing principles and guides development of new policies and ideas

Assists with preparation of federal and state income tax returns and tax provision computations under ASC 740

Other duties as assigned

Required

Minimum of 5 years of related experience

Bachelor's Degree

Ability to obtain security clearance, if required

Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties, including computer skills

Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements

Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and the public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies

Willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes

Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions
