Responsibilities

Performs surgery scheduling duties, as well as prior authorization, coding and general office duties

Experience and/or training in a hospital or medical office doing similar tasks preferred

Experience and/or training in reception or a customer service setting required

Experience and/or training with delegated health care services and ICD-10 and CPT coding required

Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology

Knowledge of State and Federal (HIPAA) laws pertaining to confidentiality of protected health information

Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues

Ability to work, function and communicate on a multi-disciplinary team

Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics
