Responsibilities

Management of construction project to assure the Contractors compliance with contract documents

Supervision of office and field staff

Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision to resolve disputes and other project issues

Assist RIDOT with analysis and negotiation of extra work items

Management of Transportation Management Plan and work zone safety

Project inspection and contract administration under the direction of the RIDOT Area Construction Engineer and the Project Manager

Coordination with adjacent construction projects

Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer LicenseConstruction ManagementRIDOT Specifications KnowledgeProject ManagementEffective Communication

Required

BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field

Professional Engineer License (PE) in the State of Rhode Island is required

10+ years of direct experience in managing complex Construction Projects, preferably design build

Knowledge of RIDOT Standard Specifications and Standard Details

Considerable knowledge of roadway, structure, traffic engineering, construction methods, procedures practice, plans specifications and contracts, materials used and performance and environmental regulations

Effective oral and written communication skills

Willingness to work weekends, nights, and swing shifts as required on assigned projects

A valid Driver's License is required
