Senior SEO Associate

Pesty Marketing is one of the fastest-growing pest control–focused agencies in the U.S. They are seeking a Senior SEO Associate to drive measurable lead generation by optimizing all aspects of local SEO, content SEO, and technical SEO for their clients. The role involves leading local SEO initiatives, achieving high rankings for targeted keywords, and innovating new SEO tactics to enhance client success.

Responsibilities

Drive measurable lead generation for Pesty clients by owning, optimizing, and innovating across all aspects of local SEO, content SEO, and technical SEO
Deliver 20%+ growth in leads generated from GMB profiles and local service area pages across assigned clients
Achieve top 3 rankings for targeted service keywords in at least 75% of client markets
Partner with content editors to ensure 100% of published blogs and service pages meet advanced SEO standards (headings, internal linking, NLP optimization, external references)
Complete SEO audits and implement fixes that raise site health scores to 90%+ in tools like Ahrefs/SEMRush for all client sites
Lead SEO on at least 3 website launches or migrations, ensuring zero loss of organic traffic and proper 301 mapping
Track and report SEO contribution to the marketing funnel (traffic → leads → booked calls), driving at least 30% more SQLs attributable to SEO by year-end
Pilot at least 2 new SEO tactics (e.g., generative search optimization, LLM-friendly structures) and roll out agency-wide if successful

Qualification

Required

3–5+ years in SEO roles in an agency environment
Deep expertise in local SEO: GMB optimization, service area pages, citations, reviews
Proven success growing traffic and leads for home service businesses (pest control strongly preferred)
Hands-on experience with technical SEO audits, 301 redirects, migrations, and launches
Strong understanding of SEO analytics tools (GSC, GA4, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog)
Self-Starter: Moves fast, owns projects, and doesn't wait for direction
Diagnostic: Can quickly troubleshoot why a page/site isn't ranking and implement solutions
Data-Driven: Uses numbers and funnel metrics to measure and optimize
Collaborative Coach: Partners with editors and content managers to raise SEO quality across all content
Systems Thinker: Understands SEO as part of the broader customer acquisition funnel
Curious Innovator: Always testing new tactics, tools, and approaches

Preferred

Experience optimizing for AI/LLM search (NLP, entity optimization, semantic SEO)
Prior success driving leads at scale (100+ SQLs/month) through SEO
Experience with home service multi-location SEO campaigns
