Purpose Brands, the parent company of several fitness brands, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team. The role involves supporting the monthly close process, revenue recognition, and financial reporting for a dynamic multi-brand fitness organization.

Responsibilities

Oversee monthly close activities ensuring accurate revenue recognition, expense reporting, and accruals

Prepare journal entries, including intercompany transactions and departmental allocations

Analyze and reconcile complex balance sheet and income statement accounts

Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate trial balances

Prepare and explain actual vs. budget variance analysis

Perform account reconciliations and support month-end reporting

Assist with financial and tax audits

Contribute to process improvements, policies, and internal control initiatives

Support the Accounting Manager with ad hoc tasks and projects

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

Experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations (required)

Strong GAAP knowledge

Experience with complex reconciliations

Ability to manage multiple deadlines

Proven ability to work both independently and cross-functionally

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Solid understanding of general ledger functions and close processes

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

Familiarity with financial statements (I/S, B/S, Cash Flow) and related footnotes

Preferred

CPA license preferred

Advanced knowledge of Excel

Experience with ASC 606/deferred revenue (a plus)

Experience with NetSuite (a plus)
