Manager, School Psychological Services Education Program Manager I
The Maryland State Department of Education is dedicated to supporting a world-class educational system that prepares all students for college and career success in the 21st century. The School Psychological Services Manager oversees programs and initiatives that provide support to Maryland’s schools in the area of school psychological services, serving as the lead expert on these programs and ensuring their effective implementation throughout the State.

Responsibilities
Oversee programs and initiatives that provide support to Maryland’s schools in the area of school psychological services
Serve as the lead expert on school psychological services and monitor implementation of school psychological services programs throughout the State
Interpret and implement laws, regulations, policies and procedures governing assigned program areas
Advise and make recommendations concerning education program effectiveness, program needs and operational issues
Participate in the development, implementation and assessment of strategies to ensure that program activities contribute to meeting strategic plan goals and objectives
Provide leadership, consultation, and technical assistance to develop and implement the program of school psychological services in each local education agency (LEA)
Share responsibility in the branch for suicide prevention programs
Assist others in the Division with school climate initiatives
Share responsibility within the branch for assisting LEA’s with developing and implementing a coordinated student services program and for expanding school mental health services
Share responsibility within the Department and with staff from other agencies to develop guidelines, programs and/or promising practices in services for students with disabilities, data collection, school mental health, and disruptive youth
Use knowledge, experience, and expertise in school psychology, research and evaluation, systems of student support, and the school improvement process to support achievement of Departmental and Division goals and priorities
Qualification
Required
A Master's degree or the equivalent of 36 credit hours of post-baccalaureate course work from an accredited college or university
Five years of experience coordinating or administering education programs or services related to a school psychological services program
Applicants must be certified as a School Psychologist
Eligible candidates must be certified as a School Psychologist
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland
Applicants must consent to a State Police Investigation (fingerprinting) as a routine procedure for all employees with this Agency
Preferred
Experience in administering Federal or State Grant Programs
Experience in supervising or leading employees to include training, and/or assigning and reviewing of work
Experience in developing, implementing or consulting on a strategic planning project
