The Judge Group is working with an industry leader in the food industry seeking a Night Shift QA Supervisor in their Lebanon, IN area location. This role is responsible for overseeing the transition from sanitation to production, ensuring the plant is compliant, sterile, and fully prepared for morning operations without delay.

Responsibilities

Sanitation Verification: Direct and validate all SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) and CIP (Clean-in-Place) activities

Pre-Op Leadership: Lead the final physical and microbiological "Pre-Op" inspection. You hold the ultimate "Go/No-Go" authority to release lines for production

Non-Conformance Management: Identify, tag, and isolate out-of-spec products or raw materials. Manage the "Hold and Release" log with 100% accuracy

Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for any overnight regulatory (USDA/FDA) presence, ensuring all shift documentation is audit-ready

Technician Management: Supervise and audit the work of Night Shift QA Techs, ensuring sampling frequencies and testing protocols are strictly followed

Qualification

HACCP certificationFood Safety/QA experienceRegulatory KnowledgePCQI certificationSQF/BRC auditor trainingAutonomyPhysical staminaCommunication skills

Required

3+ years in Food Safety/QA within a manufacturing environment; minimum 1 year in a supervisory or 'lead' capacity

HACCP certification required

Working knowledge of FSMA, GMPs, and Pathogen Environmental Monitoring (PEM)

Proven ability to make high-stakes safety decisions independently during off-peak hours

Ability to work standing in wet, cold, or hot environments and navigate production machinery

Exceptional written and verbal skills for critical shift-handover reporting

Preferred

PCQI and SQF/BRC internal auditor training highly preferred
