They are seeking Mechanical Technicians to transform legacy freight rail cars into electrified, self-driving vehicles, focusing on mechanical build, integration, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities
Mechanical Build: Cutting, welding, and general fabrication work per mechanical, computer-aided designs (CAD) and verbal instructions - on new and modified hardware
Mechanical Integration: Assembly of mechanical platforms, frames, and custom enclosures to support integrated systems installations, such as pneumatics, hydraulics, drivetrains, high and low voltage power, cooling, sensors, and controls
Fabrication Support: Movement of material and completed assemblies with forklifts and cranes
Problem-Solving: Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical assemblies as needed to ensure high-quality and reliable integrated solutions
Lifecycle Support: Address and resolve issues related to fielded systems, providing comprehensive support throughout the product lifecycle. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
Qualification
Required
Technical Associates Degree in applicable field, or equivalent experience
Experience with reading mechanical drawings (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics)
Experience with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns)
Experience with product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs)
Able to perform occasional heavy lifting, pulling, pushing, stooping, climbing, reaching, bending and working in awkward positions
Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise
Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment, as an individual contributor, and as a conscientious teammate
Fluent in both written and verbal English
Preferred
Experience in directly applicable industry or projects, such as Rail, Electric Vehicles, or Unmanned Systems
Proficient welding skills
An understanding of ISO Quality systems, and adherence to ISO 9001:2015
