Faculty - Data Science

The Data Science Faculty Member is responsible for delivering rigorous instruction in data science, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum improvement while ensuring academic quality and student engagement.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Deliver asynchronous lecture content that aligns with course learning outcomes and Elmwood's instructional design standards
Ensure curriculum fidelity, pacing, and instructional coherence across all course sections
Lead weekly instructional team meetings to analyze student progress, assessment trends, and emerging issues
Supervise Course Mentors and Assessors, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development
Coordinate delivery of academic support and summative assessments across the instructional team
Support onboarding and training of new instructional staff for assigned courses
Serve as the primary academic contact for assigned courses, managing instructional quality and student experience
Respond to academic issues, complaints, and appeals; serve as final authority on student conduct within the course
Implement academic interventions and content updates to improve learner success and satisfaction
In partnership with the Program Director, monitor cohort-level data on student performance, progression, and engagement
Identify trends and collaborate on strategies to promote persistence and learning outcomes
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the institution’s academic offerings through data-informed decision-making

Required

Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Instructional Design, or related discipline)
3+ years of experience teaching or mentoring in online or asynchronous academic environments
Demonstrated expertise in course design, delivery, and faculty coordination
Familiarity with learning management systems and instructional technologies
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
Experience working with global or nontraditional learners

Preferred

Doctorate in a relevant field
Experience in competency-based or cohort-based education models
Background in project-based learning or workforce-aligned program delivery
Experience supervising instructional teams and facilitating professional development
Understanding of academic policies, student conduct, and institutional procedures
Prior work in cross-cultural education settings or with sponsored scholarship programs
