2026 Summer Research Internship: Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicle Model Development
Resources for the Future (RFF) is a research organization focused on improving environmental, energy, and natural resource decisions. They are seeking a Summer Research Intern to support the development of a model for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, contributing to impactful research aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and informing transportation policies.

Responsibilities
Provide technical support for the production of research under the direction of RFF Fellows
Support the development of a model of medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (MHDV)
Work with RFF’s Transportation Program on the Framework for Large-Scale Economic Evaluation of Trucking (FLEET) model
Contribute findings to an academic paper and potentially continue collaboration beyond the internship
Qualification
Required
Education: Priority is given to candidates enrolled in a graduate (Masters or PhD) program that is relevant to RFF's research and mission
Highly motivated candidates in the social and natural sciences with training in economics and quantitative methods, or with a keen interest in public policy, are encouraged to apply
Experience or coursework using Stata, Python, or Matlab
Preferred
Candidates with training in discrete choice modeling are preferred for this position
Strong writing skills
