Management and Program Analyst (Program Advisor)

Responsibilities
Planning and conducting special studies and providing advice to managers of sector functions and major field activities
Evaluating, developing, implementing, coordinating and overseeing a variety of projects and program improvements impacting CBP
Providing technical expertise and recommendations to sector management officials, and definitive guidance on compliance and impact of guidelines for the USBP Resiliency Program
Serving as the focal point for program issues affecting and impacting the mission of sector and stations
Ensuring accurate, concise, and timely information is available to executive management and policy officials
Preparing comments, impact statements and recommendations on issuances for executive and managerial considerations

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Planning, organizing, and directing team task force efforts across organizational lines; Planning, conducting and participating in special studies on task forces and providing assistance to sector and stations; Providing technical assistance and direct support to sector management staff in a variety of matters relating to the application of planning systems and management programs to meet mission requirements; Planning, developing, and coordinating planning management through briefings, presentations and conferences for executive management; Reviewing and providing recommendations on policies, insurances and directives related to process improvement

Background Investigation: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity
Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years
