Research Lab Tech II GLI Genomics Platform RESEARCH NEUROLOGY

The Research Lab Tech II will carry out advanced research activities, assist in determining methodologies, analyze data, and maintain laboratory equipment to support the Genomics Platform's goals.

Responsibilities
Executes protocols of non-routine experiments
Assists PI with determining the most suitable methodology
Performs basic design and modification of protocols
Calculates, transcribes, and analyzes data
Prepares and presents reports
Organizes and summarizes acquired data using scientific and Statistical Techniques
Participates in the design of experiments or field work
Under supervision of or assisting the Platform Manager, provide next generation sequencing and spatial transcriptomics services, including single cell and bulk RNA-sequencing library preparation, spatial omics, and other workflows as needed
Carefully maintain records/logs of Genomics Platform projects. This includes sample tracking, archiving, and storage
After proper training, perform sectioning, staining, and histology quality control for spatial omics projects
Perform in vitro and in vivo experiments run by the Genomics Platform
Maintain all equipment within the Platform to keep them in good working order. Work with vendors to schedule preventative maintenance visits and coordinate all repairs needed for the equipment
Track inventory, order supplies, receive and log orders to maintain adequate stock of Genomics Platform consumables
Serve as the emergency response personnel required to respond to equipment failure during off hours. (e.g. freezer failure)
Performs all other duties as directed by the Platform Director, Manager, and Project Manager
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
Previous Research Lab Experience 1-2 years required
Analytical skills and ability to resolve technical problems
Ability to interpret acceptability of data results
Strong Computer skills
Demonstrated competence in research techniques and methodologies
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
High degree of computer literacy
Sound analytical and organizational skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Must be able to logically and effectively structure tasks and set priorities
