Responsibilities
Translate business goals and user needs into scalable, secure, and performant technical solutions
Lead discovery sessions and requirements gathering with clients and internal teams
Define technical architecture and documentation across CMS and commerce builds, including integrations, APIs, workflows, and deployment plans
Evaluate platform fit for new builds—recommending CMS or commerce systems based on client goals, scalability, and cost considerations
Provide technical oversight across the full project lifecycle: estimation, planning, implementation, QA, deployment, and support
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients throughout the project
Mentor development team members, share best practices, and contribute to team knowledge growth
Identify technical risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities early in the process
Support pre-sales efforts by participating in technical scoping, solution design, and proposal development when needed
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in software engineering or architecture roles
3+ years leading technical delivery on client-facing digital projects
Deep architectural understanding of enterprise CMS and commerce platforms such as: Optimizely (formerly Episerver), Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, ContentStack or similar headless CMS platforms
Strong experience with TypeScript and Next.js in a production environment
Experience with cloud platforms like Azure and/or AWS, including infrastructure planning and cloud-native architecture
Solid grasp of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and infrastructure as code (e.g., GitHub Actions, Terraform, Azure DevOps)
Familiarity with headless, composable, and API-first architectures
Experience integrating CMS/commerce systems with external services like CRMs, ERPs, PIMs, personalization engines, and analytics platforms
Proven track record of delivering successful, large-scale digital projects on time and within scope
Excellent communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
Passion for mentorship and helping developers grow in their careers
Understanding of web performance optimization and accessibility best practices
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
Preferred
Prior agency, consultancy, or multi-project delivery experience is strongly preferred
