IC Designer

Vital Materials Co., Limited is seeking a highly skilled IC Designer with expertise in CCD and CMOS technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, simulating, and validating integrated circuits for imaging systems, working collaboratively to develop innovative solutions for image sensors.

Responsibilities

IC Design for Imaging Systems: Design and develop analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs) for CCD and CMOS image sensors, including pixel design, analog front-end (AFE) circuits, readout architectures, and signal processing
Circuit Simulation & Validation: Use advanced simulation tools to design and validate CMOS/CCD circuits, ensuring high performance, low noise, and optimized power consumption
Pixel Design & Optimization: Work on the design and optimization of image sensor pixels for high dynamic range, low-light performance, and color accuracy
Signal Processing: Develop custom signal processing techniques for readout circuits, noise reduction, and pixel-level calibration to enhance the performance of CCD and CMOS sensors
Technology Scaling: Work with advanced process nodes (e.g., 28nm, 14nm) and cutting-edge semiconductor technologies to improve image sensor resolution, sensitivity, and power efficiency
Layout Collaboration: Work closely with layout engineers to implement pixel designs and readout circuitry efficiently in silicon, ensuring manufacturability and performance
Test & Debugging: Support the testing and validation of prototypes, ensuring functional performance meets system specifications, and troubleshoot issues during the prototyping phase
Product Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate CCD/CMOS IC designs into larger imaging systems, ensuring compatibility with other hardware components
Design for Manufacturability: Ensure designs are scalable and cost-effective for high-volume production while adhering to quality standards

Required

Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Physics, or a related field
Proven experience in CCD/CMOS IC design, including deep knowledge of imaging sensor technologies and signal processing
Proficiency in industry-standard IC design tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics, etc.)
Experience with analog and mixed-signal design techniques, including pixel-level design and readout circuit design for image sensors
Strong background in CMOS and CCD technologies, including understanding of noise, low-power design, and high-speed performance
Familiarity with SPICE, Verilog, and other simulation/verification tools for circuit design and analysis
Experience in image sensor performance analysis, including pixel sensitivity, noise analysis, and signal integrity
Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of debugging and optimizing complex IC designs
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Preferred

Experience with advanced process nodes (e.g., 7nm, 5nm) and cutting-edge CMOS fabrication techniques
Hands-on experience with pixel array architectures, column drivers, and row drivers in CMOS image sensors
Familiarity with sensor calibration, dark current reduction, HDR (High Dynamic Range) imaging, and global shutter techniques
Knowledge of system-level integration, including embedding sensors into larger imaging systems for consumer electronics, automotive cameras, or industrial applications
Familiarity with 3D ICs, system-on-chip (SoC), or packaging technologies related to image sensor integration
