Responsibilities

The Senior Mechanical Engineer should be capable of working independently with limited supervision to complete both small and large projects and may serve as a discipline representative in client meetings
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external clients is required
Candidate must be well organized, be able to demonstrate critical thinking to quickly recognize issues and be part of the solution
Have knowledge of the ASHRAE standards, NFPA and ICC codes
Have experience with analysis and layout of Plumbing and/or HVAC systems, hydronic piping, medical gas, air distribution and associated products and materials
Serve as technical advisor for team
Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings
Prepare technical specification sections
Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers

Required

BA/BS plus six (6) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Healthcare facility, Laboratory, or other complex HVAC design experience
Thorough working knowledge of relevant engineering software: REVIT, CAD, load calculation software, Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external clients is required

Construction phase experience: submittal reviews, on-site inspections, RFIs, change orders, etc
Plumbing and Medical Gas design experience for hospitals and labs
Experience preparing proposals, interviewing, communicating with clients
