Responsibilities
Direct and oversee the operations of the Claims General Liability leadership team
Guide and support a high-performing team of Managers and Claims Professionals within the General Liability Specialty Team
Oversee claim operations across Captives, Excess & Surplus, and Direct Markets
Partner with other AVPs within the line of business to develop, support, and drive key initiatives and strategies
Work on National Projects on behalf of the line of business and serve as a subject matter expert to the underwriting team regarding product developments or enhancements
Coordinate the work activities of the team and have responsibility for performance, development, and coaching of staff to maximize contributions and drive employee development and operational improvements
Manage internal and external customer relationships
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims area OR
Bachelor's Degree and 9 or more years of experience in the Claims area OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 11 or more years of experience in the Claims area AND
3 or more years of management experience
Customer service experience
Experience with Microsoft Office
Knowledge of insurance legal statutes and procedures
Travel 25% or more
Preferred
Expertise in Primary General Liability Claims, Captives, Excess & Surplus, and Direct Markets
Experience with leading leaders
Experience with change management tools/methodologies
Strong Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
Ability to build strong relationships and establish rapport
Successful implementation of process changes
Negotiation experience
Experience collaborating across work groups
In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment
